Chester County Mens Slowpitch Softball League
SCORES & SCHEDULE
What is WCASA?
January 18, 2018
Metal spikes will not be allowed at any time. Anyone wearing metal spikes will be asked to remove them between innings. Disregarding will result in the player being removed from the game until approved equipment is utilized. If a player must be removed, all substitution rules apply.
Any bats used for ASA sponsored events must be certified by District 6 representatives for use on all league complexes. Any bat to be used will be tested per ASA guidelines. The bat must carry the stamp of approval per ASA guidelines along with the District 6 approval security decal. All bats may be randomly tested throughout the season whether already being approved or not. Any bat being used without prior approval is subject to ASA of PA illegal equipment guidelines
All games must be started with a minimum of (9) players. Players may be added as long as you have not been through the batting order (1) time. You must end the game with the same number that was the maximum number used during the game.
Batting orders may consist of no more than (2) two “extra hitters” in the line-up at once. “Extra Hitters” do not have to be used.
1 courtesy runner per inning. May be anyone in lineup or on bench. If the courtesy runner comes to bat while on the bases, then the baserunner is out and the courtesy runner will assume his spot in the batting order.
Safety bag is to be used at first base. Any batter/runner is to use the safety bag when a play is being made.
All baserunners must hold the base until contact is made by the batter. Anyone leaving the bag will be considered out.
All pitches must have a perceptible arc and reach at height of at least 6 feet and not exceeding 10 feet.
All hitters will begin their turn at bat with (1) one ball and (1) one strike. Any foul ball hit on the third strike will be considered a strikeout.
$1310 entry fee is due first game. If a fund-raiser is planned to raise this money, this rule may be waived until completion of fund-raiser.
All umpiring discrepancies are to be made through league officials first, and then directed to ASA Officials. If an umpire does not show for a game, it is recommended the game be rescheduled to avoid any conflicts that could arise during play. Any protest or difference of opinion will not be honored by the league in a non-officiated game. If an agreement is reached between the two managers to use a substitute umpire the game will be official and all rules will apply. This substitute must remain the entire game and cannot be used as an eligible player during the game, but will get a game toward playoff eligibility. Teams are not required to pay a substitute umpire unless he is a qualified ASA umpire.
Run Ahead Rule to be as listed below:
20 after 4 complete innings
12 after 5 complete innings
Any player instigating a physical altercation in the judgment of the umpire will be removed from the league for the remainder of the season (first offense). Second offense will result in permanent removal from the league. Any player involved in a physical altercation other (than reacting in self-defense in the umpire’s judgment) will be subject to punishment from the WCASA. All ASA penalties will be applied as a minimum and may not be included in WCASA or Chester County Slow Pitch punishment. If a player is ejected for an unsportsmanlike issue the manger may receive the same penalty. Any players leaving their designated team area for any involvement in unsportsmanlike issues, other than assisting in the restraint or control of a person involved, will serve the same penalty as those involved.
Any person involved in public defamation of the league will be permanently removed (first offense). Any second player from the same team will result in the team possibly being removed from the league by CCSP Board. This includes verbal (proven with witnesses), written, or electronic. All punishable incidents may be subject to WCASA penalty
In the case of an ejected player District 6 rules will be enforced. All WCASA rules may be enforced as well. Any player ejected from a league game for any reason will not be permitted to participate in other scheduled events on the same date at any league complexes.
Rosters are not required for regular season play and may be added to at any time without prior notice; however, players may only play for one team in the league. Anyone found in violation of this rule will be considered an ineligible player and will be handled per ASA guidelines. To be eligible for post-season play players must officially appear in (1) game less than half of the regular season. Each team qualifying for post-season play must supply a playoff eligibility roster prior to first game of post-season. Games missed due to injury may be counted as an appearance with prior permission of league officials ONLY if they are present at games they miss. All teams are to be registered on line by each manager including manager contact info and roster on the CC Slow Pitch website along with Manager Registration.
Home team is responsible for keeping official scorebook which should be signed by umpire at completion of game. Scorebooks should include first initial and last name and should be filled out in pen (scoring can be done in pencil). Each team is required to record players used, results, & stats within 24 hours to www.chescomens.com for tracking of standings. Failure to do so may result in forfeits for both teams involved.
Home team must supply one new ball and one good backup ball each game. Balls will be supplied by the league at the beginning of the season. Additional balls will not be supplied for the season without extenuating circumstances. All balls out of play must be chased by closest team
All rainouts are to be controlled by league officials. Every effort will be made to cancel as early as possible and all teams involved will be contacted or there will be an announcement placed on the league website (www.chescomens.com). If no warning is received the game will remain as scheduled.
Any game cancelled for darkness or dangerous weather is official after five complete innings (or 4 ½ if home team ahead). If a game cannot be completed the score reverts back to previous full inning. If the game has not been completed, it will be rescheduled and replayed from the first inning.
Any team forfeiting more than (2) times will be removed from the league and all monies forfeited.
. No games will be rescheduled due to conflicts or extenuating circumstances unless approved by the CCSP Board. Any game forfeited will result in a fine twice the amount of the umpire rate payable to the league. It is every team’s responsibility to ensure your players are available based on the original published schedule.
Both teams are required to do field maintenance after the last game of each night. This includes filling holes, returning equipment to storage areas, and policing around the bench areas. Each game, each team is to dump one trash can in the dumpster beside the shed. Safety bag to be used every game. Double safety bag is provided at Lambert
All other rules are covered under
ASA official rules.
